The Village Support Network (VSN) is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our mission. We align our efforts with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), embracing the unique qualities of our workforce, volunteers, members, partners, and donors to reflect the rich diversity of the communities we serve.

At VSN, DEI means valuing diverse backgrounds, experiences, abilities, races, ethnicities, gender identities, ages, sexual orientations, and cultures. We serve and welcome all, working together to bring help and hope to those in need.

We ensure that our volunteers and members reflect diverse talent and are transparent about our progress in achieving our DEI goals. We champion equal opportunity for all, cultivating a safe and respectful environment free from harassment, intimidation, and discrimination. Our goal is to create a culture of belonging that values all talents and perspectives, while focusing on delivering services that meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve.

Values

  • Humanity - We desire to bring assistance and support without discrimination wherever it may be needed to protect life, health, and ensure respect.

  • Impartiality - We make no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. 

  • Neutrality - We do not take sides or engage in a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.

  • Independence - We are independent from agencies while working collaboratively with agencies.

  • Voluntary - We are a voluntary support movement not prompted in any manner by desire to gain.

  • Unity - Everything we do depends on the needs of the villages we support.


The Village Support Network (VSN) is not a government agency. The VSN is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that

depends on volunteers and partners of the Maryland public and organizations to deliver its mission.
